We spent the end of our vacation getting the house ready for sale. We dropped A off at her Gigi & Pop's house and we were on the road again.
When we got back to Clemson, I was struck by two things. One: it seemed so "forest-like". I guess compared to where we are living now, it seemed strangely different. Two: There is so much orange and purple in the town. I guess when we lived there I was so used to it that I didn't even notice it. Even stores that are known for their "branding" change it (ever so slightly) to incorporate orange and purple. Believe it or not, orange and purple can be incorporated to be aesthetically pleasing. The wall in the picture below was in our hotel room in Clemson. From a distance, the wallpaper seemed to be a bamboo print.
Closer examination shows that it actually contains a great deal of orange and purple.
The carpet in the lobby of the hotel. Lots of orange and purple.
The breakfast area is below. There was a glass "wall" dividing the room
of orange and purple glass, twisted in a decorative fashion.
There were many more examples, but Daniel insisted I stop taking pictures of everything!
The house looks wonderful with the new counter tops in the kitchen. I just wish we had done it when we lived there. Below are some pictures of the before and after.
